2020: Presentation of VX IT of IT cabinets

On May 14, 2020 the Rittal company submitted the nomenclature of solutions in the field of server cabinets and network equipment. With its help it is possible to create IT infrastructures with a high speed, whether it be one network cabinet or the ready data processing center (DPC).

Developed in the form of the universal nomenclature, VX IT is suitable for all widespread scenarios of application. The solution can be applied differently in the form of a network and server cabinet. A wide choice of standard sizes covers options of height from 15 to 52 U. Thus, users can implement Edge-installations, projects of corporate DPCs with intra line cooling, modular IT containers, energy efficient Colocation-DPCs and also large Hyperscale-DPCs.

Quick selection and order

The online configurator allows to select consistently components and also controls compatibility.

For the clients Rittal completely uses digitalization potential in VX IT. All selection process, configurations, the order and delivery is provided with digital instruments and is transparent. During configuration the 3D model with component parts is created. The ready 3D model can be used by the client in further design process. Individual options of execution of an IT cabinet are made on modern production, and thanks to the optimized logistics are delivered quickly and in time.

Advantage to clients: the separate options of VX IT created by a configurator with all components are already tested and certified according to such standards as UL 2416, an IEC 60950 and an IEC 62368. Therefore clients do not need to carry out additional certification of a ready system. It ensures the maximum freedom and safety during creation of new IT infrastructures. With this solution IT managers can save valuable time when planning and purchasing and also to ensure safety thanks to the fact that all components correspond each other.

Compatibility with IT infrastructures

VX IT provides compatibility with the available Rittal RiMatrix systems and other IT infrastructures which are created based on the Rittal components. At the same time it is possible as replacement of separate components in the existing DPCs, and purposeful expansion of DPC. For example, the companies can understaff the available RiMatrix installations with cabinets of VX IT and also use special components based on VX IT in the field of cooling, the UPS or monitoring. At the same time protection of investments in the available DPCs on Rittal equipment is provided.

Fast installation without tools

The one who works in DPC wants to deal with the thought-over and easily serviced solutions. Rittal considered these factors when developing VX IT. Installation of an IT cabinet is made mainly without tools using the Snap-In technology saving time. Marking of units of height and the sizes on depth just allows to adjust distance between 19" the planes. All flat parts, for example, sidewalls and ceiling panels are established quickly and just thanks to latches and elements of positioning. Vertically separated sidewalls which are optionally available in component parts provide to the user the improved access that considerably accelerates mounting works and to service. Vertically separated sidewalls are equipped with plain hinges, can open as doors and at the same time are absolutely just dismantled. Besides, horizontally separated sidewalls which simplify access, for example, to servers are available.

Stability and power capacity up to 1800 kg

One more feature of VX IT is high stability: thanks to the improved construction of a frame the IT cabinet has big rigidity of a 19-inch vertical profile in comparison with the previous model. Power capacity was confirmed both during own tests in Rittal company, and at certification of the American company on standardization and certification in the field of the security regulation Underwriters Laboratories (UL). The cabinet of "VX IT standard" maintains a static load of 1500 kg according to the results of tests in Rittal and 1200 kg by the certificate of UL. The VX IT dynamic option allows loading to 1800 kg according to tests of Rittal and 1500 kg by the certificate of UL.

Everything that is necessary for a cabinet

Various component parts are available to individual installation of VX IT. Different options of doors, sidewalls, the bases and roofs and also new products, for example, a LED rail for indication of the status belong to them. Besides, there are elements and means of the organization of a cable and also the solution for monitoring, power supply and control of the equipment in a cabinet. Such components as PDU, the UPS, the IT coolings systems and also modules of early fire detection and suppression are available to internal installation of VX IT.
