2021: Delivery of 30 millionth Blackwire headset
On June 17, 2021, Poly, a global communications company that provides full communication and cooperation between people, announced the delivery of a $30 million Blackwire headset.
The Blackwire line was introduced in 2009 and initially occupied a small segment in the Poly portfolio. During this time, the device became the best-selling headset. Blackwire's sales volume indicates how portable headsets with PC connectivity are relevant for companies during the transition to cloud technology and hybrid working format, the company noted.
2020: Blackwire 8225 headset presentation
On May 20, 2020, Plantronics ("Poly" - formerly Plantronics and Polycom) introduced the latest addition to its Blackwire line - the Blackwire 8225 headset, which offers hybrid active noise cancellation capabilities. The premium wired USB headset is a continuation of the popular Blackwire 3300, Blackwire 5200 and Blackwire 7225 series, which combine advanced audio features to significantly reduce background noise, giving the user even more opportunities to work anywhere in the world.
The Blackwire 8225 headset is easy to install and manage, and is designed to significantly reduce the noise of distractions that are present at any workplace - at home during remote work or in a regular office. The three settings of the advanced hybrid active noise cancellation technology help users adapt to their work environment and not be distracted by household noise around, for example, the sound of a working vacuum cleaner or conversations of colleagues in the office.
The noise-canceling microphone, complemented by Poly Acoustic Fence technology, allows users to sound clear and clear regardless of where they are, automatically reducing distracting background noises - barking dogs or talking to people nearby. Therefore, the only sound that is heard at the other end of the line is the exclusively pure sound of the speaker.
Our customers in different workspaces often complain about extraneous distracting noises that can make their work less productive. Blackwire 8225 complements our wide range of everyday headsets that are equipped with innovative acoustic technologies so IT that business executives, as well as end users, can feel confident wherever they are, - says Roger Ogborn, Global Solutions Marketing Specialist at Poly |
The Blackwire 8225 series is an easy-to-use, connect-and-work solution. It is suitable for IT managers who want to provide their employees with the necessary devices to significantly reduce distracting noise. Along with its intuitive and stylish design, the Blackwire 8225 delivers exceptional enterprise-class audio performance even in the noisiest spaces. To monitor and improve performance, IT teams can remotely manage Blackwire 8225 using Plantronics Manager Pro software, which is sold separately.
For users, Microsoft Teams Blackwire 8225 offers a special version to support collaboration and communication. A special Teams button provides instant access to the Teams desktop application for a quick call, appointment, or other collaborative experience.
Employees need solutions that allow them to concentrate during calls and appointments and can block background noise for efficient work and interaction. Poly's Blackwire 8225 is equipped with Acoustic Fence to block any noise other than the sound of the speaker's voice. Its advanced hybrid active noise cancellation technology provides more advanced noise blocking capabilities, providing participants with excellent sound, - notes Alaa Saayed, Director of Information and Communication Technology at Frost and Sullivan |
