2020: Release of a system
At the end of May, 2020 the Chinese producer of computer Imsight Technology tomographs provided an AI system for KT-diagnostics of lungs which sets the preliminary diagnosis in 10 seconds. Development received the name Imsight CT Analysis System.
In the course of deep learning a system received a huge number of data and during tests in February, 2020 could process images with an accuracy more than 99%, including at detection of the infections connected with a new coronavirus of COVID-19. The company tested a system on an experimental basis and checked its accuracy in National hospital No. 3 of Shenzhen in the Province of Guangdong.
By May 22, 2020 Imsight CT Analysis System is used in two medical institutions in Shenzhen for diagnosis of diseases of lungs. When a system detects a possible infection of COVID-19, she immediately defines an affected area and carries out necessary quantitative analysis of data. According to Imsight, a system is capable to process roentgenograms up to 600 people a day, and for verification of each image it needs only 10-20 seconds.
According to Xiao Xiang, the chief operating officer of Imsight, the sphere of AI technologies for image processing in China grows quicker, than in the rest of the world. It first of all is connected with a wide scope of the Chinese market which offers a huge number of the saved-up data for training of AI from different sources. Besides, China overtakes the USA and Europe by the number of the workers trained in annotation and process of marking of data which do these arrays suitable for machine learning.
The number of radiologists in China increases approximately by 4% a year while the market of the medical equipment for visualization grows approximately by 30%. The imbalance in development of medical care created extremely high demand on the systems of visualization in some regions. Besides, many Chinese companies get political support from the government which advances development of AI as national strategy.[1]
