2020: Representation of the Secure Element S3FV9RR chip
On May 26, 2020 Samsung Electronics, the company in the field of semiconductor technologies, presented the autonomous solution which ensures safety of loading of the device, the isolated data storage, mobile payments, etc. It consists of the Secure Element (SE) chip (S3FV9RR) and protective software thanks to what received certification for mobile components – Common Criteria Evaluation Assurance Level (the CC EAL) 6.
The solution of Samsung for security represents the version of the chip of first generation (S3K250AF) announced in February, 2020. Thanks to the doubled capacity of the protected storage it supports a hardware root of trust (RoT), safe loading and authentication that reliability of mobile devices brings to new level. At start of proprietary applications on the mobile device authentication can be strengthened using RoT. In load time step-by-step check of all OS components with the approved keys is activated. This process protects the device from any possible attacks or unauthorized software updatings.
The solution can work irrespective of the base processor of the device. It does it suitable for gain of security of mobile gadgets, the IoT applications and other products of any performance level.
The producer expects that the solution Samsung S3FV9RR will be available in the third quarter 2020.
