The St. Petersburg subway has fifty-year history and is one of the largest transport enterprises of Russia. Thirteen thousand people are engaged in service of trunk lines, rolling stocks and passengers. The enterprise consists of 29 geographically distributed services.
The industry is Transport.
Project Tasks
- process optimizations of personnel records and payroll;
- transition to the modern automated HR solution integrated in the existing infrastructure.
Project Steps
The project started in the spring of 2004 and was implemented in two stages. At the first stage the organic and salary circuit of the BOSS-PERSONNEL OFFICER system intended for automation of such processes as the cost accounting on personnel, payroll, accounting for transfer to public authorities, drawing up different analytical reports on personnel and so forth was implemented. As at the enterprise the regular and personnel circuit of the BOSS-PERSONNEL OFFICER system was already used, updating of earlier set version of this circuit was made previously.
In total a system covers about 200 jobs in central office and geographically distributed divisions of the St. Petersburg subway.
Within the second stage integration of the BOSS-PERSONNEL OFFICER system with a number of the information systems used at the enterprise was made. In particular, the BOSS-personnel officer was integrated with own highly specialized software products of the St. Petersburg subway:
- system of accounting of a worked time;
- system of accounting of a piece-work pay;
- schedule system and accounting of work of drivers of the rolling stock;
- system of accounting of waybills of drivers.
In project completion the BOSS-personnel officer was integrated with the mySAP ERP system. In the spring of 2005 the system covering about 200 jobs was put into commercial operation.
Project Effect
System implementation the BOSS-personnel officer allowed the management of the St. Petersburg subway to carry out restructuring of accounting for the purpose of increase in efficiency and controllability at simultaneous cost reduction on its contents. If earlier each of 29 services of the subway independently made payroll, then as a result of the carried-out restructuring in general bookkeeping department of the subway the uniform settlement sector which is responsible for payroll all thirteen thousand employees of the enterprise was created.
Integration of the software package BOSS-PERSONNEL OFFICER with the specialized accounting and settlement systems and mySAP ERP allows to solve one of the most difficult tasks in the field of personnel automation – the centralized payroll on a large number of groups of personnel using multiple-factor algorithms of calculation of the price-work salary.
