2020: Start of a pilot project of "smart" shop

On June 4, 2020 Rostelecom announced start of a pilot project of smart shop in retail chain stores of Gulliver in Ulyanovsk. The solution of smart shop is implemented on the basis of the product Retail Hub intended for business process automation and quality improvement of service of buyers.

Retail Hub developed in Rostelecom is a multifunction solution for retailers which allows to organize modern and convenient approaches to service of visitors of outlets. At the first stage the pilot project is started in two shops. In outlets electronic price labels (on 7,000 units in each shop), on an input are implemented and at the checkout it is set on three cameras for control of queues and calculation of traffic and three big screens on the main route of buyers in a trading floor — on them are displayed information on attractive goods and promotional and informational content of the most retail chain stores is placed.

The solution is constructed based on the Video surveillance platforms, "Rostelecom. Screens", "Electronic price labels" and the software product for dynamic pricing (DTsO) using algorithms and opportunities of artificial intelligence.

As a result of Retail Hub product introduction the retail chain stores have an opportunity to manage change of information on electronic displays (ESL platform) and pricing in shop (DTsO) and also in the online mode to focus attention of buyers on seasonal goods and attractive price offers (the platform "Rostelecom. Screens"), expanding with that the range of purchases and increasing an average bill. Implementation of such complex product allows retailer to receive a sure pecuniary benefit. The business volume and financial indicator which reflects income level from the amount of the general sales of goods (front margin) will grow at least by 3% and 1% respectively.

We expect from the joint project with Rostelecom, first of all, optimization of working time of employees and processes in shop, as a result, the level of service of service of buyers will increase. We hope, the project will also help us to generate additional traffic that will promote a profit gain — the buyer will estimate more comfortable conditions of commission of purchase, confusion probability in identification of the paper price label and goods on the shelf will decrease. "Rostelecom. Screens" for June 4, 2020 are started in two test shops, in plans — to develop the project on all network,

Retail, certainly, is hi-tech area. We follow the main technology trends, first of all implementing those which allow to increase quality of the rendered service, to improve perception of clients from visit of our shops. Most often work of technologies is imperceptible to the ordinary buyer, electronic price labels — a rare exception. We are sure that our buyers will estimate convenience level when shopping, and the staff of shops will be able to direct time for service quality improvement released from change of price labels,

We developed the solution integrating the platform of "Electronic price labels" with the system of dynamic pricing which allows to calculate the optimal price on goods, using more than 2,000 input parameters and difficult mathematical algorithms, and other platforms of Rostelecom. Such solution was received by the name Retail Hub. Thanks to Retail Hub, in addition to automation of internal processes of retailers, possibilities of marketing extend — the attention of the client to goods is focused without involvement of personnel of shop. Also the efficiency of internal processes and consequently, employees can focus on work with buyers increases,
