In the middle of June, 2020 it became known that the Coca-Cola company signed the agreement on cooperation calculated on five years with Microsoft. The agreement concerns use of cloud computing and assumes that they will be involved by 700 thousand employees of the producer of soft drinks worldwide.
As declared in Coca-Cola, the transaction will allow the company to transform the "earlier separated and fragmented systems" using Microsoft 365 (including Microsoft Teams), Dynamics 365 and Azure and to standardize the business operations. In particular, Microsoft Dynamics 365 will provide the set of applications for enterprise resource planning (ERP), customer relationship management (CRM) and a business intelligence (BI).
At the first stage of cooperation of Coca-Cola will unroll several cloud applicaions of Microsoft. Using one of them call-center managers will be able to trace performance measures of staff of the center in real time. Also the satisfaction of employees and separate factors influencing assessment will be traced.
Against the background of COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic the need for available tools for joint work became even more obvious. Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams will allow all staff of Coca-Cola to interact with the help of instant chats, calls, virtual meetings and exchange of documents in the uniform center and by that will be able to ensure joint work of internal and global groups.
The company is sure that it will be able to diversify and expand application of the advanced cloud computing. The chief information officer of Coca-Cola Barry Simpson said:
