In the middle of June, 2020 GE Healthcare released a set of the software Thoracic Care Suite which includes eight AI algorithms for identification of signs of COVID-19 on x-rays.

According to developers, the provided AI packet quickly analyzes results of a radiological research of a thorax and reveals different anomalies. Among other things it is capable to define pneumonia which often develops against the background of COVID-19 infection. Besides, software can also define tuberculosis, nodal educations in lungs and find other radiological deviations.

The pandemic proved that analytics of data, artificial intelligence and means of communication become more important for assistance to patients, - the CEO of GE Healthcare Kieran Murphy told. - It means for GE Healthcare that the company should focus on the innovative technologies. [Thoracic Care Suite] is the last example of how radiological researches together with AI can support the highest standards of treatment of patients when developing new diseases.

Thoracic Care Suite can estimate the report from the system of archiving and transfer of images (PACS) marked with the doctor. AI algorithms are capable to estimate quickly each of eight deviations put in software, to verify the image and its written description and to help with diagnostics and treatment.

Clinical physicians look for the checked methods which will help to reveal symptoms at an early stage and to define what patients are subject to higher risk of complications and need active monitoring, - professor of a radiology of the University of Oxford Fergus Gleeson explained. - AI can cope with similar tasks and will allow hospital to use the resources rationally.[1]
