2020: The Russian Railway moved to "Yandex.Browser"
On June 22, 2020 it became known that JSC Russian Railways (RR) started use of the Russian program developments to the sphere of work with e-mail and web surfing. According to the departmental edition "Gudok" with reference to the CIO of the Russian Railway Evgeny Charkin, in all network of the organization for Internet access is used "Yandex.Browser".
According to Evgeny Charkin, the Russian Railway was analyzed by over 110 software products and platforms of general purpose developed century Russia. They selected from them in total 20. As representatives of the company reported, treat them: ERP EAM electronic document management systems and managements data, office systems and others. On some of them pilot projects which results will be opened later are implemented.
Evgeny Charkin reported also that the Russian Railway was passed to use not only the domestic browser. As representatives of the company told, all centralized servers of an electronic mail system of JSC "Russian Railways" are transferred to CommuniGate Pro software, and in quality a solutions antispam the company uses products of Kaspersky Lab.
The observer "Yandex.Browser" selected by the Russian Railway as an importozamenitel of foreign browsers is registered in the unified register of the Russian software too (its number 3722, registration date – on July 22, 2017). As reported a source, it exists since October, 2012 and for June, 2020 is issued under desktop (Windows, Linux, macOS) and mobile (Android, iOS) platforms. The basis of a product is formed by the Blink engine directly related to the American company Google.
In Russia "Yandex.Browser" for June, 2020 is in the second place in popularity among users. According to the statistics of StatCounter, for May, 2020 its share made 14.36% against 11.57% at Apple Safari, 6.26% at Opera and 5.73% at Firefox. Held the leading place Chrome from shares in the amount of 57.21%[1].
