US Navy completed the largest project of transfer of infrastructure in a cloud

At the end of June, 2020 it became known of a successful completion of large-scale migration of infrastructure of the Navies of the USA (Naval Forces) in AWS GovCloud cloud. This project as it is supposed, will allow to raise the security level and efficiency of a zakazachik.

Jennifer Hronis, the general manager of department of security in AWS, noted that it is the largest for Naval Forces 'cloud migration'. It is about more than 72 thousand users from 6 commands of Navy of the USA and about processing of financial transactions approximately for $70 million annually.

New technologies will allow not only to dispose more effectively of time at accomplishment of these or those tasks, but also will improve process of the order and delivery of components of rockets and radars for weapon systems of Naval Forces. On transition to cloud space 10 months, however, by estimates of organizers were required, process could will drag on much longer, considering complexity of the project.

Hronis paid attention that AWS GovCloud provides uniform safe space with a mass of tools for exchange and data analysis. Migration in cloud space will allow Navy to make important decisions quickly and reasonably thanks to access to the advanced means of data analysis.

AWS GovCloud will also allow Naval Forces to raise significantly the security level as for the last decade the ministry endured several unpleasant incidents, in particular attempts to obtain data on the F-35 fighter, the S-17 military transport plane and also on the MQ-9 Reaper UAV were recorded.

Hronis explained that the defense and industrial base of Naval Forces repeatedly endured cyber attacks and continues to attract interest of malefactors. If earlier specialists were forced to monitor security of several repositories, then thanks to migration in AWS GovCloud it will be possible to resist successfully to the attacks due to concentration of efforts on protection of the only repository.^[1]
