2020: Release of the solution for operation of the equipment of Ericsson in 5G networks
At the beginning of July, 2020 Ericsson submitted the software of Standalone 5G NR which will allow the existing equipment of Ericsson released since 2015 to work in 5G networks.
Autonomous the 5G eliminates need for the trunk LTE, i.e. will allow service providers to add a 5G of New Radio (NR) to the existing points with simpler architecture or to independently unroll a 5G in new points for support of corporate applications and services.
Updating SOFTWARE for devices of Ericsson should improve work of network applications with low value of a delay, such AR as well as VR, autonomous vehicles and the smart enterprises.
Thanks to a superfast response self-contained unit 5G NR can be connected to autonomous 5G network six times faster, than the device working in the NSA mode, - representatives of Ericsson claim. |
Ericsson selects business applications for use autonomous with a 5G not accidentally: software updating allows the existing hardware of Ericsson to work at two of three ranges of a 5G, low and average, but upper range does not include. A low-frequency 5G has a wide coverage that allows to use the latest computing systems and the IoT systems even in rural areas, however low-frequency not so fast 5G. Mid-frequency 5G network works at the acceptable level of speed and range (from 100 to 400 Mbps).
We are ready to take the next step on the way of evolution of a 5G and to provide the public software for support of autonomous NR 5G networks. This updating will open even more options of use of applications, - the head of division of work with Ericsson networks Per Narvinger considers. |
Mobile operators T-Mobile also Telstra unrolled autonomous 5G NR from Ericsson in the networks, and partners of Ericsson of Qualcomm MediaTek also already submitted projects on ensuring compatibility which will allow them to begin release of an autonomous 5G devices in 2020.[1]
