2020: Zoom began to sell to the companies the equipment for video conferences
In July, 2020 Zoom Video Communications began to sell to the companies the equipment for video conferences. The Hardware as a Service program (HaaS) assuming sale of devices on a subscription was for this purpose started.
Zoom of the organization which decided to use this initiative pay every month a fixed amount for the purchased equipment. It is profitable much as it is not necessary to spend large sums for products for video conferences at once.
Two complete solutions integrating software and the equipment are available to users of HaaS:
- Zoom Phone — is replacement to traditional corporate telephone systems;
- Zoom Rooms — is used for integration of devices in conference rooms with the different equipment, including with wall screens.
Zoom sells offices of third-party producers among which — DTEN, Neat, Poly, and Yealink. At the same time undertakes services in installation and control of the Zoom equipment, using a cloud platform of ServiceNow. In turn, ServiceNow within this agreement will replace outdated telephone systems with Zoom Phone.
Many companies cannot provide to the employees effective hardware solutions because of high initial expenses and significant effect on their budget — the manager of projects of Zoom Phone and Room One Graham Geddes explains. — Thanks to Zoom HaaS of the organization can receive the equipment from the leading suppliers. |
He also added that the model of a subscription allows the companies "easier to increase or reduce" the parks of devices as required. Zoom also promises the simplified processes of deployment of the equipment. So, clients can use services in installation and "expanded end-to-end management" within the subscriptions, the representative of Zoom added.
The cost of new service of Zoom begins with $6 for Zoom Phone and with $75 for Zoom Rooms.[1]
