2020: Implementation of Smart IDReader

Smart IDReader allowed to reduce considerably the American laboratory BioCollections Worldwide time of registration of patients when testing for COVID-19 and to increase capacity of the centers of testing. The software of Smart Engines company was integrated into the web application for collecting of personal identification data of patients which want to pass test in BCW for presence of a coronavirus of COVID-19. The application is used both on mobile devices, and as a part of the automated jobs in points of conducting testing. On July 7, 2020 Smart Engines reported about it.

Smart IDReader allows to enter quickly personal data from identity documents that accelerates registration of patients. For data entry of the document it is rather simple to show it to the camera of the mobile device or the normal webcam. The application will automatically recognize data from the document and fills out the commitment form for testing for COVID-19. All process is made independently and safely as no data of the patient are transferred to third-party services and do not remain on any third-party resources.

The software confirmed the high performance, efficiency and reliability. It allowed us to process thousands of requests for testing much quicker than normal. We adjusted registration of patients on different types of certifying documents, including passports, driver's licenses, registration certificates of the vehicle and other ID cards. We expect that we will shortly expand use of functionality of Smart IDReader within improvement of processing and ensuring safety of personal data — Sixto Pacheco, the president and the chief executive of BCW told.
