2020: Equipment of a class of collective virtual reality
The application of VR Concept company, the resident of Skolkovo Foundation, is used as the software solution of a class of collective virtual reality. It opened based on the Higher Engineering School (HES) of the National Research Nuclear University (NRNU) of MEPhI. The Skolkovo Foundation reported about it on July 13, 2020.
The class of virtual reality consists of 20 powerful VR Ready of computers and HTC VIVE helmets. As a software platform the Russian VR Concept application is used. Using technologies in a class will train engineers for industrial construction and BIM managers and also to develop techniques of use of virtual reality for training of specialists in the field of engineering (construction of nuclear and power plants, power objects and infrastructure in the conditions of Far North, etc.).

Joint work of the mentor and pupils in virtual space — one of the main features of our solution. The teacher or students can independently load into VR already available or created digital doubles from CAD/BIM of packets and further without creation of difficult algorithms the teacher can use VR digital doubles as the manual for 20 students. For July, 2020 we see two main pluses of use of technology of virtual reality for problems of the industry. The VR Concept company is widely known among projects in the field of virtual reality and has implementations at our industrial partners. Implementation of the solution in MEPhI shows possibilities of the software for work in virtual reality with difficult engineering objects in one space on 20 participants. The majority of similar solutions support no more than 5 attached devices within one virtual room. The possibility of remote work in virtual reality with the difficult engineering models consisting of a set of small elements reduces time for approval of projects and introduction of changes in them. Implementation of tools on digital modeling and design contributes to the significant development of the industry and digital transformation of the enterprises. |
