Yandex released the program for routing of courier services

On July 14, 2020 "Yandex" announced creation of the program for routing of courier services. The algorithm is developed together with DPD company which the first began to use a new logistic solution.

The technology allows to consider features of business, for example, seasonality, different types of express tasks and also need to add on routes the new addresses in real time.  The algorithm arranges routes of district couriers under time of arrival of intermediaries and helps to monitor loading of cars.

"Yandex" released the program for routing of courier services

On routes it is possible to add automatically the address each 10-20 minutes and even more often. The algorithm distributes them taking into account location of couriers, load of machines and the forecast of traffic jams. It allows to take away quickly urgent and new orders, declared in "Yandex".

At distribution of machines the algorithm takes into consideration not only total amount of each subject, and all measurements — length, width and height. When in one body loads, very different in a form, are transported, it is necessary to predict whether new sending will precisely be located. In addition to the sizes, it is also possible to specify — whether it is allowed to overturn a subject or not.

By words the head of " Yandex.routing " of Danila Shelekhov, courier services transport up to 30% of all orders of online stores. Complex planning processes work in this sphere, and the company tried to create the solution which considers the majority of features: from a variety of dimensions of loads to need to adjust routes throughout the day, he added.

DPD synchronized " Yandex.routing " with the service for ensuring delivery in two-hour intervals — Predict which in day of receiving sending informs in the morning the client by the SMS.  If the offered time is inconvenient, the receiver can make changes with the chat-bot DPD. In such cases the new solution of "Yandex" allows to optimize in the online mode the courier's route taking into account a road situation and the client's wishes on delivery time, noted in DPD.[1]
