2020: The death of the 35-year-old girl after the procedure of liposuction

On July 16, 2020 the Investigation department of the IC RF across Moscow announced criminal proceedings under the article about rendering the services which are not meeting safety requirements, entailed the death of the person by negligence because of death of the patient during plastic surgery in one of private capital clinics.

Death of the 35-year-old woman in clinic on Aseev Street in the capital became known earlier on the same day. It was reported that the client addressed to the center to make the procedure of liposuction. According to REN-TV, transaction took place under the general and local anesthesia and lasted about 4-5 hours then the client's status sharply worsened. Doctors tried to give the woman first aid and using a defibrillator started the patient's heart again, however in 15 minutes it stopped again. The physicians of "ambulance" who arrived to the scene verified the death of the woman.

The clinic where the woman did liposuction, is closed now and does not accept patients. In organization investigators work, all circumstances of the event are established. Forensic medical examinations are during the investigation appointed, the management and the staff of private clinic will be interrogated.

Experts will set an exact cause of death. Presumably, to all poor made anesthesia could be fault. The founder of clinic refused any comments.

According to the Vademecum edition with reference to Roszdravnadzor, an incident occurred in "Clinic of plastic surgery of doctor Penayev" in the north of Moscow.

As it appears from the unified register of checks of the State Office of Public Prosecutor of the Russian Federation, for the last five years clinic it was four times checked by territorial authority of Roszdravnadzor. In particular, the violations connected with need of renewal of the license for medical activity were revealed.^[1]
