Technologies of Rostelecom in North Ossetia will notify the population on emergency

2020: Retrofitting of an end-to-end system of the emergency notification of the population

Specialists of Rostelecom started the next stage of works on retrofitting of the end-to-end system of the emergency notification of the population (ETESENP) about threat of occurrence of extreme situations in the territory of the Republic of North Ossetia. At a present stage the national digital provider will make installation of equipment, intended for interception of signals of the main federal TV and radio channels and broadcasting in their air at the regional level of messages for the population. Balancing and commissioning will take place in Beslan, Digore, Elkhotovo and also in Vladikavkaz and in the Transcaucasian Highway zone. Rostelecom reported about it on July 22, 2020.

We develop the system of the emergency notification of the population and we work on retrofitting of several operations control rooms of the municipal and regional level. Upgrade will help to increase significantly efficiency of reaction in cases of need of protection of the population and also to reduce human losses and damage, will increase efficiency of the taken measures for warning and emergency response, – Andrey Popov, the associate director of the North Ossetian PJSC Rostelecom, the director of applied projects told.

Works in the territory of the republic within the government contract started at the beginning of 2020 and will be completed according to the plan in September, 2021.

A system has various functions of forecasting and development of emergencies. With its help we obtain timely information on the critical level of a raising waters in the rivers, the conditioned data from meteorological stations, and in case of need we inform the population on evacuation. So a system allows to avoid completely serious consequences at natural disasters or helps to minimize them. This guaranteed bringing to each person who is in the dangerous territory, the vital information, – Mikhail Koliyev, the chief of the Center of ensuring activities for protection of the population and territory of the Republic of North Ossetia from emergency noted.

Rostelecom carries out full-time work on maintenance of infrastructure of warning systems in regions in good repair and also their construction and upgrade.
