The Moscow ambulance will be equipped with portable devices for quality evaluation of work of lungs

On July 24, 2020 it became known that the Moscow ambulance will be equipped with portable devices for quality evaluation of work of lungs. The mayor's office bought 53 kapnograf, their producer is not called.

Kapnograf represents the small device on which display all key indicators and curves showing the volume of a carbon dioxide gas which is selected by the person are displayed. The device joins the special device via which the person breathes, and catches an expiratory air. He traces the level of a carbon dioxide gas in real time and allows to watch dynamics of a status of the patient and efficiency of treatment at the most different critical situations. Earlier these processes traced only in hospitals.

The Moscow ambulance will be equipped with portable kapnograf

These devices - kapnograf - will allow doctors to diagnose quicker a cause of infringement of breath and, as a result, to begin therapy quicker. The ambulance crews equipped with the new equipment will go to patients with heavy respiratory insufficiency, shock statuses, for example, at heavy pneumonia or bronchial asthma and also with cardiac arrest, the Deputy Mayor of Moscow Anastasia Rakova whose words are cited on the official site of the capital city's mayor reported.

As the chief physician of the Station of ambulance and emergency medical service of A.S. Puchkov of the Moscow Department of Healthcare Nikolay Plavunov noted, the indicator of the exhaled carbon dioxide gas is considered during performing transactions for a long time and is recommended for use in the conditions of resuscitation. Now kapnograf will apply also in the Moscow ambulance, first of all crews of anesthesiology resuscitation.

Ambulance crews with kapnograf will begin to leave in Moscow since fall of 2020.^[1]
