Reasons of acquisition of the firewall

In the Shchyolkovo college long time was used own solution created by specialists of IT department. Two salaried employees performed security settings, provided relevance of the register of the resources prohibited by Roskomnadzor, traced the sites which are visited by pupils. Over time there was a question of acquisition of the complete solution certified by FSTEC.

Implementation

After acquisition of Traffic Inspector FSTEC it was required to specialists of college all half a day to unroll and configure the firewall. According to the representative of college Alexey Letunovsky, there was never a requirement of the address to a support service Smart-Soft which nevertheless was ready to answer any questions of the client (the producer places a particular emphasis on it).

System implementation almost did not affect the speed of the Internet (the local provider provides a dedicated line with a speed of 100 Mbps). But now what had to be done manually earlier occurs in the automatic mode (for example, support of relevance of base of the prohibited websites). Besides there was a possibility of content filtering: it blocks resources not only on the basis of their belonging to the black list, but also by certain words. The smart algorithm looks for them in contents of the website and can block it even if there is no page address in the list of Roskomnadzor yet.

The cost of the solution was about 300 rubles counting on one active user that on a ratio "price/quality" is significantly more profitable not only the western analogs which do not have the FSTEC certificate, but also the domestic certified solutions.
