2020: Equipment of the fighting ship by the polymeric shelter for radar station

The Obninsk scientific and production enterprise "Tekhnologiya" of A.G. Romashin of State Corporation Rostec developed and set the shelter from polymeric materials for an antenna system of radar station of the Admiral of the Fleet Kasatonov frigate. Rostec reported about it on July 30, 2020. Special construction protects the equipment from climatic influences, has high reliability and long term of service.

The Admiral of the Fleet Kasatonov frigate was a part of the Northern Fleet on July 21, 2020 on the eve of Day of Navy and is intended for service in far sea and ocean field region. Operation of the vessel in the seas of both a tropical zone, and the Arctic basin assumes the raised wind loads, humidity and temperature differences.

The shelter saves consistent reception and signal transmission for detection and recognition of the purposes, including small-sized, in a radius up to 300 km. The protection structure from polymeric composition materials is capable to work in extreme conditions more than 15 years.

For the Admiral of the Fleet Kasatonov frigate of ONPP "Technology" released also other products from composition materials: air ducts, beams and elements of antenna assemblies. On July 26, 2020 the vessel participated in the main naval parade in St. Petersburg together with the same head frigate "Admiral Gorshkov" and corvettes of the Guarding type. Radar stations of these sea vessels are also protected by composite shelters of production of ONPP "Technology".

Our enterprise is engaged in equipment of the fighting ships since 2003. During this time specialists of ONPP "Technology" released more than 1000 component parts for radar stations of sea basing, including for 13 corvettes of project 20380 of the Guarding type and frigates of project 22350 like Admiral Gorshkov. Within the current project four-meter multilayer construction from polymeric composition materials was developed for protection of the sea vessel of a radar equipment located in an upper point. At the same time the main task was to provide requirements for radio transparency, – the CEO of ONPP "Technology" Andrey Silkin told.
