2020: Release of Clinical One Data Collection service

The systems of electronic data collection Electronic Data Capture (EDC) do not correspond any more to problems of clinical trials as more and more virtual components include and become more and more decentralized. The traditional EDC systems are applied to data collection from forms, however at clinical trials huge amounts of data arrive with high speed from the most different sources, including wearable devices. To solve this problem, the global division of Oracle Health Sciences provided a cloud service of Clinical One Data Collection. It became known on July 24, 2020. Thanks to a possibility of data collection from any source on the single unified Oracle Clinical One platform changes approach to technology support of clinical trials, helping to increase their efficiency and to accelerate implementation of the innovation methods of therapy.

The Oracle Clinical One Data Collection system allows to perform data collection from any sources — forms, sensors of wearable devices, applications for patients, electronic medical records, laboratories — and to consolidate them in uniform storage. These expanded data allow specialists to make a better understanding about a status of the patient and, finally, to ensure big safety and efficiency of researches of medicines and to make more weighed decisions. And as the Clinical One system represents the unified platform, specialists can use it for the different purposes, for example randomization, a dosage of drugs and collection of data on patients in one system.

Thanks to simplicity of setup the Clinical One Data Collection system is suitable for tests of any types – beginning from the simplest researches of phase I and post-registration researches prior to phase III researches for all directions of treatment. Clinical One is already widely used in the industry, including in particular researches of methods of treatment and vaccines for COVID-19.

Recently Oracle also announced a cloud service of Clinical One Randomization and Supplies Management which allows to execute necessary preparation for researches for several days instead of standard two months[1].
