2020: Start of service

On August 11, 2020 it became known that Google added service which allows to create virtual business cards to the search system. The new feature under the name People Cards is intended for entrepreneurs, freelancers, inflyuenser and also all those who aim to reach fast recognition in Internet space.

New service is for the first time started in India as exactly here Internet users most often look for these or those persons through Internet search. Besides, India is the second in value Internet market in the world. Service for creation of virtual business cards which initially supports only English is considered as attempt of Google to add more functions characteristic of a resource of LinkedIn to the search system.

To create the virtual business card, the user needs to enter into the Google account and to searching enter the name then to agree to creation of the virtual business card. When filling a form it is necessary to specify such data as links to the personal websites, social networks, the e-mail address, location, information on work and education, the photo.

Google started People Cards service

In Google explained that the more information is added about himself by the user, the it is easier to find it. The company also implemented protection against spam and fraud. For example, only one business card can be tied to one account.

The product manager of Google Search Lauren Clark noted the following:

We have a number of mechanisms for protection against offensive content or spam and if you face low-quality information or the card which, in your opinion, was created by the stranger, you can click on the link of a feedback to report about it to us. If you do not want any more that your card was displayed searching, you can delete it at any time.[1]
