2020: Project development start "Digital city"

On August 12, 2020 it became known of the new project of digitalization of the cities in Russia. It is called "The digital city".

The project is serious, big. If it flies up, I consider that it will be the Russian unicorn and it will win the place in international market — the vice president of Skolkovo Foundation Oleg Dubnov told Kommersant.

Within the project it is going to create the center of application studies (CAS) "Digital city" and to involve in cooperation the Russian and foreign companies and also universities — St. Petersburg National Research University of Information Technologies, Optics Mechanics, the Moscow state construction university, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the University of Newcastle. The largest mobile operators and developer Osnova Group can act as investors, partners - Rosatom, Huawei, Enel, Cisco, Schneider, "Yandex", etc.

In Russia the project of digitalization of the cities is created

According to the road map of the project which was at disposal of the edition, the basis of "The digital city" will be formed by the aggregation platform with the working name Clarinet. Will connect subplatforms among which the IT system on analytics of the smart home, control of autonomous transport, environmental monitoring, forecasting of emergency and biometrics to it. Implementation of "The digital city" will help to save to municipalities up to 432 billion rubles annually, authors of an initiative consider.

Rostelecom intends to become the main operator of the project. This company already has many components for the platform, the managing director of the center of strategic development and digital transformation of LANIT-Integration company Pavel Kondakov says. According to him, Rostelecom actively increases competences in the relevant directions by creation of joint ventures or in the course M&A.

Considerable potential residents Skolkovo have, they can become participants of the platform and provide services — he added.[1]
