Biography

2020: Position assignment of the CEO of Poly

On August 17, 2020 Poly announced Dave Shull's appointment the new CEO and the president and also the board member of the company. He will start new responsibilities on September 8, 2020.

The former permanent head of Poly Joe Burton left in February, 2020. Then Robert Hagerty who from 1997 to 2010 headed Polycom became the acting as the CEO (afterwards it joined Plantronics, and the united company was renamed into Poly).

After Shull officially heads Poly, Hagerti will return to membership in committees on appointments, management and strategy and also will become the Chairman of the Committee on merges and absorption in the company. Besides, Robert Hagerti will remain in the head of the Council of directors of Poly.

Dave Shull so commented on the position assignment of the head of Poly:

The pandemic of COVID-19 changed the world for all of us. Especially strongly methods of interaction and communication of people in the personal or professional purposes changed. We expect that fundamental transition to remote work and cloud computing will remain also after a pandemic, and the market opportunities created by revolution under the name "work from any place" will be essential and excellent. It is a turning point in the history of Poly, and I am very glad to head this talented command during this period of conversions.

Robert Hagerti called Shull "the veteran of the technology industry" and "the outstanding leader of Poly" who has an experience in the field of global work and telecommunications.

Appearance of such enthusiast and creative thinker as Dave, according to Board of Directors, is the recipe for long-term success and growth — Hagerti said.

Before heading Poly, Shull was the CEO of the TiVo company specializing in development of Set-top boxes.^[1]
