Rostelecom organized the protected remote work for the staff of Federal Passenger Company

2020: The organization of the protected remote work for employees

JSC Federal Passenger Company (JSC FPC is subsidiary of JSC RZD) used services of Rostelecom for the operational organization of remote work and communication of employees in the period of an adverse epidemiological situation in the country. The provider provided a range of services which provided personnel access of the company to remote jobs. Over three thousand employees of FPC working out of office were connected to internal systems, reported on August 27, 2020 in Rostelecom.

Rostelecom constructed VPN communication channels on the basis of own data network, selected service resources Virtual DPC in a complex with the software for the organization of remote access to jobs that allowed Federal Passenger Company to save uninterrupted activity. Protection of remote jobs was implemented due to use of the managed services of cyber security Solar MSS connected within the complete solution of Rostelecom. As a result access for staff of FPC to corporate resources was organized with observance of necessary requirements of information security: using the protected remote authentication, enciphering of communication channels and technologies of prevention of network threats.

The complex of the cloud services deployed for FPC provides stability of business processes of the customer. The remote desktops acting as virtual machines are not tied to specific physical places. Working programs are stored and executed not on local computers of employees, and on a cloud server" — Alexander Obukhov, the director of the department of cloud services and DPC of Rostelecom told.

The service for protection against information leaks and control of communications of employees based on the solution Solar Dozor was connected to each workplace. It allowed FPC to perform prevention of the incidents of information security connected with actions of employees and also to control efficiency of their working time.

"Special attention was paid to questions of prevention of any accidental or malicious impacts on information resources of FPC as the mass mode of remote work creates new vectors of threats from which it is necessary to be protected. Within this project Rostelecom provided the solution of a task of Federal Passenger Company to pobystry and safe transfer of employees to a turnkey remote operation mode. Forces of our specialists create virtual infrastructure, integration with resources of the customer is carried out it and solution lifecycle management is exercised" — Dmitry Ugnivenko, the associate director — the director of work with corporate and state segments of MRF "Center" Rostelecom reported.

During the first two days transferred one thousand employees to remote work. Further in two weeks the protected jobs were created even more than for two thousand people. The provider connected services for FPC in Central Federal District and other regions of the country. Expanded technical support allowed to resolve quickly the operational issues connected with settings and use of services.
