2020: The announcement of a neuronet for determination of character on a selfie
In August, 2020 group of researchers of the University the Higher school economies and Open humanitarian and economic university showed capability of artificial intelligence to define type of the identity of the person on a selfie. For this purpose specialists used technologies of the Russian startup BestFitMe which is engaged the systems of creation of psychometric profiles of the personality on a photograph, also created a neuronet.
Within the research about 12 thousand volunteers filled out the questionnaire, which afterwards scientists used for creation of the database personal qualities. Besides, participants of an experiment made near 31 thousand selfies photos with the set conditions — with neutral look, with good lighting and with lack of a make-up or jewelry.
Results of a research showed that the neuronet could define trait of character of the person according to the photo it is better than people. The last, giving answers, were based on representations of about "good" and "bad", likes and dislikes also in most cases were mistaken in the estimates.
As for artificial intelligence, it could make correct guess in 58% of cases against 50% expected accidentally. The easiest from the offered four qualities (a nevrotizm, an ekstraversiya, cooperation, and conscientiousness) the program distinguished conscientiousness. Except that, the estimates made on female photos were more exact, than the characteristics given to men.
The experiment showed communication between features and character. So, size cheekbones and jaw and also a form of the person in general certain hormones influence like testosterone and estrogen which, in turn, answer for aggression, sexuality or, for example, sense of duty.
At development high potential is mentioned: it will help employers on interviews, will define the hidden motives and traits of character of the politician participating in elections, and even, theoretically, will be able to determine the potential criminal only by the photo.[1]
