The Pentagon selected $11.7 billion for elimination of unnecessary components of IT infrastructure

At the end of August, 2020 the Pentagon selected $11.7 billion for elimination unnecessary components of IT infrastructure and for consolidation of expanded networks of the Ministry of Defence. The Defense Enclaves Services program should upgrade network and ensure its safety therefore The U.S. Department of Defense looks for specialists who provide services of cyber security, technical updates and support.

Optimization of network capabilities so-called "the fourth estates" (Fourth Estate) - the auxiliary agencies of the Ministry defenses of the USA which is not connected with fighting - will be engaged Agency of defense information systems (DISA). An initiative on optimization of Fourth Estate (4ENO) network was the main priority the managements as should "reduce number vulnerable for cyber attacks points to reduce operating costs and to improve support services end users".

Our role consists in integrating all IT networks of the separate agencies in a single network which we call DoDNet and which will be managed by DISA, - the colonel Chris Autrey explained managing initiatives. According to DISA, consolidation will include 22 separate IT networks managed by the Fourth Estate agencies.

The signed contract does not define delivery date and does not limit the number of the orders issued for specific works. It is supposed, that the initiative will cover not less than 10 years of work, but initial the contract is expected four years with a possibility of prolongation for two years not less than three times.

DISA will estimate bidders regarding their compliance to the third or fourth level of certification of model of a maturity cyber security (CMMC). CMMC are new, offered by the Ministry defenses of the USA requirements to a cyberspace for contractors. New rules did not become effective yet, but the Ministry of Defence expects that they will be executed at signing of the contract.[1]
