2020: Criticism of the function allowing users to announce abuses of regulations of social distancing with a possibility of sending photos
On August 26, 2020 it became known that the Turkish application for tracking of contacts with patients with a koronavirusny infection (COVID-19) of Hayat Eve Sigar underwent criticism from defenders of confidentiality for adding of the function allowing users to announce abuses of regulations of social distancing with a possibility of sending photos. According to critics, function breaks civil liberties and promotes "the culture of denunciations".
In April, 2020 the Ministry of Health of Turkey in cooperation with mobile operators and Public administration of information and communication technologies started the mobile application of Hayat Eve Sigar helping people to trace the confirmed cases of infection with a coronavirus, showing risk levels and indicators of infection in specific areas.
One of the last functions of the program allows users to announce abuses of regulations in such places as restaurants and cafe, with the purpose to help to control spread of a virus.
Critics see in this function threat subjecting residents of the country to influence of state bodies without their consent and forcing to feel is unsafe. Information which is stored in the application can be transferred to other public institutions, including the Ministry of Internal Affairs and even [1] of private travel agencies[2].
