2020: Agreement with the purpose of increase in efficiency of activity
On September 1, 2020 it became known that SAS, airline of Scandinavia, and Sabre Corporation, the supplier of technologies and the software for the world industry of tourism, signed the long-term distributive agreement which will provide to the agencies access to content of SAS, and carrier – advantages of a global scope of Sabre.
SAS – the player in the market of air transportation in/from and in Scandinavia. The airline is a part of transport infrastructure of the region. The distributive agreement with Sabre will allow SAS to control better expenses on distribution and more effectively to sell the products and services, including additional services, through hundreds of thousands of tourist agents worldwide.
The global distributive Sabre (GDS) system provides to airlines a method to implement rates and offers by means of network of the agencies and corporations worldwide. The Sabre marketplace constantly develops in response to the growing need of buyers for more personalized and flexible service to give to airlines of the solution for attractive display and convenient comparison of corporate rates, additional services, package and NDC offers in indirect sales channels.
Tourism industry becomes more and more fragmented. Billions of combinations of rates from a huge number of sources fall on one air ticket, – Darren of Ricky (Darren Rickey), the senior vice president of Sabre for regional sales and work with clients noted. – In the near future the level of complexity will be added by the health regulations connected with COVID-19 which can differ depending on a destination point and airline. Sabre announced strategic reorganization of the agency and aviation directions of business recently that it will allow the company to keep the promises on development of technologies of retail, distribution and rendering of services, applying complete approach to work with clients. The supplier of technologies also confirmed the intention to create marketplace for the personalized travel which will allow tourist intermediaries to offer consumers only the most suitable offers, providing the best level of client service. It will also create special value for service providers.
