At the beginning of September, 2020 the U.S. Army signed the contract for $13 billion for delivery of the ready commercial software for military. 31 producers participate in the transaction.
Contract ITES-SW2 (Information Technology Enterprise Solutions – Software 2) does not determine specific terms and supply rates of the software, but is signed for 10 years. According to the contract, army the commercial software for the enterprises and service of service in 14 categories, including information transactions in the computer networks, communication setup, modeling and simulation of processes and also software development is required.
ITES-SW2 replaces the previous contract ITES-SW signed with three companies in 2015 for providing similar commercial services to army. The duration of the contract was extended till October, 2020 that the army managed to select new suppliers for contract ITES-SW2. The latest version of the contract will expand a range of the orders provided by the Ministry of Defence and will allow to do orders on behalf of any division of the federal government.
ITES-SW2 will be under control of army division on a computer hardware and the corporate software (CHESS). The contract was signed with the following software makers:
