At the St. Petersburg plant of Sveza implement mobile application for calculation of sheets of plywood and an interline interval

2020: Testing of mobile application for determination of number of sheets of an interline interval and plywood

On September 2, 2020 the Sveza company reported that at plant in St. Petersburg mobile application which instantly defines the number of sheets of an interline interval and plywood in foot of finished goods is tested. Use of the utility will practically reduce to zero the probability of customer complaints because of mismatch of number of sheets of plywood or hit in packaging of sheets of different thickness.

The operation algorithm with the utility is simple. The packer takes a picture of a pack on the mobile phone, the application instantly processes the photo and issues information on the number of sheets of plywood and layers of an interline interval in them. If among sheets of plywood it is detected discrepancies on thickness, the application receives a signal of an error. The utility allows to define instantly the number of sheets of plywood in foot and also to set compliance of these sheets to uniform thickness. The innovation not only eliminates an error factor, but also saves working time of personnel – until recently calculation of sheets of plywood in packaging of finished goods at the St. Petersburg plant of Sveza was made manually.

The utility was specially developed by the company based on the existing program which automates calculation of different objects. The staff of the Center of Technology Development (CTD) of the St. Petersburg plant of Sveza by own forces created a template for calculation of sheets of an interline interval and a form for transfer of this quantity to sheets of plywood. For September, 2020 the application is used at the St. Petersburg plant in the test mode. In November, 2020 final input of the program in operation is planned.

The project is good the speed and reliability. It would seem what can be simpler, than count sheets of plywood. But how many it borrows time the packer. Not to mention that any person can accidentally lose count. Besides, the project is absolutely universal - shortly we expect to replicate it on all plants of our company.
