2020: Start of Xanadu Quantum Cloud for use of Xanadu quantum computers by users from around the world
On September 2, 2020 the Xanadu company announced start of the first-ever cloud platform for access to 8-and 12-kubitovy valve photon and quantum processors of the quantum computer.
The cloud platform of Xanadu Quantum Cloud allows to use the Xanadu quantum computer to users from around the world. The leading academic institutes, quantum startups and large national laboratories, including Creative Destruction Labs, Scotia Bank, BMO and Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) are among the current partners of Xanadu.
In plans of the company — to provide access to commercial clients who would like to use quantum computings for the solution of the difficult tasks.
Qubits in the Xanadu supercomputer are based on a so-called compressed status — special type of light emitted by the semiconductor photon radiator developed by the company.
Quantum computers on the basis of photonics have several advantages over other technologies. They work at the room temperature and can be easily integrated into the existing fiber-optical telecommunication infrastructure, opening a possibility of construction of network of the interconnected quantum computers. The photon systems also have more flexible scalability, higher fault tolerance and the increased reliability of calculations, told in the company.
In addition to Xanadu Quantum Cloud developers from around the world will be able to use the Xanadu tools open source placed on Github. Strawberry Fields — cross-platform library Python for modeling and accomplishment of programs on the quantum and photon equipment — and PennyLane, library for quantum machine learning, quantum computings and quantum chemistry treat them.
Within 6 months of Xanadu is going to double quantity of cubes in the quantum computer.[1]
