2020: Start of sales of SmartTicket - the uniform e-ticket on transport

At the beginning of September, 2020 the government of Ukraine announced sales of the uniform e-ticket of SmartTicket for long distance trains and the subway. Start of service will begin with Kiev.

It will be possible to purchase the e-ticket, since September, 2020, on the transport portal of electronic services e-transport.gov.ua and on SmartTicket.gov.ua. By September 3 service is available only to the users who took part in the program of testing.

As the minister of infrastructure of Ukraine Vladislav Krikly reported, at the first stage the e-ticket will be available to trains of the internal message of distant following and the city e-ticket in Kiev.

In the future we want that all means of transport are trains, buses, airplanes and public transport were connected by the uniform e-ticket. This convenience to passengers and significant savings of time. And for the modern world it is the ordinary for a long time. I am glad that Ukraine joined this process too, – he noted.

According to the minister, in addition to Kiev, Mariupol, Kharkiv and the Lviv Regional State Administration became interested in the SmartTicket project. Krikly urged other cities to join an initiative.

The head of the industry center of digitalization and cyber security Vladimir Nabokov emphasized that by September 3, 2020 a system works in the mode of trial operation. Connection to the system of other carriers which are ready to cooperate is also developed for its development. Already there is a development of connection to the system of carriers SkyUp and Gunsel. Work also on additional functionality – mobile application, smart search, etc.

Further having used the e-transport.gov.ua portal the passenger will be able to purchase the monthly card on four means of transport, or, for example, the subway and the train at once, or on the train and the airplane. SmartTicket will be read out using the QR code on the mobile device of the controller.^[1]
