2020: Testing of video analytics from Beeline

Beeline Business (structural division of PJSC VimpelCom) started the solution of video analytics allowing the companies of the sphere of retail to estimate customer service quality in shops and sales offices. One of the first this service was tested by the international construction retailer "Leroy Merlin". Beeline reported about it on September 9, 2020.

The system of video analytics uses machine learning technology and artificial intelligence for information analysis from surveillance cameras. The functionality of a system allows to perform monitoring of dynamics of load of shops and sales offices, processing the aggregated information without a possibility of monitoring of individual employees and buyers and to increase efficiency of business processes. For example, automatic calculation of average time of service in a cash zone or sales office, monitoring of load of certain cash desks and control of presence of personnel in workplaces give to the management of shop the chance to provide existence in cash zones of necessary number of employees and to estimate demand of self-service terminals.

Besides, the analytics of data on flows of buyers from surveillance cameras allows to distribute more effectively personnel on shops and also to increase conversion and turnover thanks to improvement of service quality and reduction of queues.

The system of video analytics from Beeline was created by our command in short terms, from scratch, without use of partner solutions. The video analytics – one of the most perspective directions of digitalization of business processes on the basis of computer-vision technologies, and this tool becomes more and more demanded among the companies of retail and FMCG FMSF (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) – about engl. "consumer goods", manufacturing enterprises and government institutions. Therefore we are concentrated on development of this platform and expansion of its opportunities taking into account needs of our potential customers. We use opportunity as our command for processing of Big Data, and the best partner solutions and we are focused on development of applied scenarios of use of video analytics for the different industries and business needs.

Date analytics - the important tool for the solution of business challenges and acceptance of strategic business solutions. The system of video analytics from Beeline Business was tested in one of our shops. The technology showed interesting results, however the project is not completed yet, and we still will be able to estimate all its advantages.
