2020: The announcement of Jada - the system of a stop of postnatal bleeding

In the middle of September, 2020 the Californian company Alydia Health submitted the Jada system for a stop of postnatal bleeding. She represents a thin tube with a silicone tip which is inserted into a uterus and softly sticks to its wall quickly to stop bleeding.

Postnatal bleeding is one of the most widespread patrimonial complications and a basic reason of maternal death rate, and the available methods of treatment are not ideal. Drug treatment is not always effective, and postnatal bleeding often requires the emergency surgical intervention up to a hysterectomy and blood transfusion.

The new device for a stop of postnatal bleeding is released

The Jada system is simple according to the concept and differs in convenience of using. The device is a thin tube with a folding soft loop which is located in a uterus. The silicone loop with the small protected time softly sticks to a uterus wall, deleting blood and inducing a uterus to be reduced and stop bleeding as normal and occurs after the delivery. In a pilot research the Jada system quickly and effectively stopped postnatal bleeding within 1-2 minutes.

The producer conducted the reference research PEARLE IDE in which security and system effectiveness of Jada at more than 100 childbirth in 15 leading centers of the USA was estimated. As primary endpoint of a research served the bleeding stop which did not require further interventions, and the analysis of security included a control visit of the patient in six weeks. Data of this research are not published yet, but, according to developers, it is possible to call results promising.

The company is going to release the device until the end of 2020, and first of all the perinatal centers which participated in the research PEARLE will begin to apply it. Further the producer is going to expand cooperation with other hospitals.[1]
