2020: The Russian Ministry of Health approved rules of visit of patients in resuscitation

In September, 2020 the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation approved rules of visit of patients in resuscitation. Earlier in the legislation there were no direct instructions on the fact that the medical organization should provide a possibility of visit of the patients who are in chamber of intensive therapy.

According to rules which are introduced by the Ministry of Health, no more than two people are allowed to the patient at the same time. It can be family members and relatives — or other persons if the patient agrees to it. At the same time it is necessary to switch off a sound on the mobile phone and it is forbidden to prevent work of physicians.

It is possible to come to the patient only from his consent — and taking into account its status, with observance of the anti-epidemic mode and the interests of other people who are in hospital.

Permission to visit of the patient from the head of the structural unit of the medical organization, the doctor on duty or the responsible person is required if the status of the patient does not allow to express consent and (or) there are no legal representatives or if the patient is in a serious condition in the chamber including intended for performing intensive therapy and resuscitation actions. It is impossible to visit patients in infectious boxes and infectious chambers and also during introduction in hospital of a quarantine.

The possibility of visit of patients by children up to 12 years is separately not stated in the new order and there is no accurate information about the mode of visits during night or other time frame. At the same time in October, 2019 the Ministry of Health, in one of versions of the draft document, suggested to permit to visit painful to children aged up to 12 years, notes the Vademec edition.

As for the visitors who are not direct relatives of the patient, they can pass in resuscitation only accompanied by the close relative (the father, mother, the wife, the husband, adult children).^[1]
