2020: Completion of Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations

On September 14, 2020 Neti reported that her experts helped to finish and expand functionality of Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations for Meinhart Kabel Austria GmbHthe Austrian company in the field of cable products and the equipment.

BAW Business Applications, the Austrian Microsoft partner, started implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations by request of the client – Meinhart Kabel Austria GmbH. The BAW company already had the team of consultants and developers, but gain regarding developers for accomplishment of the stated amount of works was required.

The module Management of a Warehouse was one of the most important and difficult aspects of implementation. Some old AX2012 functions were not transferred to the updated release and ceased to be supported. Therefore some modifications had to be implemented "from scratch". Need of implementation of large-scale expansions for the warehouse (WHS) module was connected also with the requirement for management of the same elements in different configurations (drums, rolls, rings) and scales taking into account restrictions (a location, weight, the loader, a zone) of warehousing.

Neti developers carried out a number of tasks for integration of necessary functionality and adaptation of the ERP system to the existing business needs.

Project Tasks:

1. Modification of function of an inventory control for storage of basic data on loaders and integration of this information in the mobile device.

2. The thought-over structure of function of the delivery advice for processing of the purchase order for revenues to a warehouse. Function of separation is used for separation of delivery to the small or most parts, proceeding from the sizes of goods to make process more flexible for the warehouse worker.

3. The user solution for start of processing and the message about its end by scanning of serial numbers of goods is implemented.

4. Conventional processes of the WHS module on selection and shipment were finished using a WHS-application, by adding of the additional information about target goods for the user. Completions for determination of specific location from which it is necessary to take away and on which it is necessary to place goods were entered.

5. Process of receiving purchase in a WHS-application was customized with significant expansion of functionality as the client wanted to receive the functionality similar to functionality of D365 in a WHS-application. For the end user process was simplified and unnecessary stages / screens were even excluded from it that made the general process more intuitive.

6. Finished directives of location by introduction of additional setup which allows warehouse workers to save noticeably operating time on a warehouse, managing pallets more effectively.

7. The user filtering on site by check of such characteristics of the stored goods, as valid type of a container, the inventory level, etc.

8. Expanded function of search of goods was added for the new goods available to the order. It simplified and stabilized reservation process.

9. The client exposed the requirement that some old parameters should remain and cannot be rewritten when the place of selection of goods or license plate number are entered through mobile application in the WHS module. For these purposes the logic meaning preserving of old parameters of warehouse positions and introduction of data in other fields was entered.

10. Expanded function of the warehouse module for working lines allows to create only one setup in a system instead of a set of records.

11. Added the customized failures to all SCM reports. They are automatically added to the previous configured failures, depending on the specific buyer or the supplier.

12. Together with the updated functionality the user reporting was implemented. One of such reports, for example, "The sheet of acceptance" which forms on the basis of delivery advices.

As a result of project implementation the standard warehouse (WHS) solution was significantly finished and upgraded. Additional functionality allowed to simplify use of a system by end users and even to exclude several unnecessary stages of business process, having made the remained its part more intuitive. Upgrade allowed to make management of a warehouse stabler and effective, having allowed to reduce time and efforts of warehouse workers.
