2020: Upgrade of a billing system
On September 16, 2020 the Nexign company (enters into ICKX Holding) announced project completion of upgrade of a billing system for JSC Uzbektelekom.
Uzbektelekom – operator of telecommunications of Uzbekistan which covers the network all territory of the republic. The local telecommunication network of the company contains over 2 thousand automatic telephone exchanges with a capacity more than 2 million numbers for September, 2020. Uzbektelekom provides services of mobile, fixed connection, broadband access (broadband access) and also is a prime vendor of telecommunication services for government institutions and departments. In August, 2020 the subscriber base of a mobile network of Uzbektelekom reached 6 million users.
In 2018 before Uzbektelekom there was a task to carry out transformation of five separate BSS systems to single convergent solution. Besides, the company needed to reduce time to market of products and services (TTM - time to market), to simplify process of creation of package offers for subscribers, to reduce operating expenses.
After holding an open tender, the operator made the decision on the choice of Nexign as the supplier of a billing system. Implementation speed which Nexign showed during implementation of a pilot project for Uzbektelekom became one of factors of the choice of the contractor.
Nexign Converged BSS (the convergent BSS solution of Nexign) including a set of products of online tariffing and management of politicians of Nexign Network Monetisation Suite provided comprehensive support of all key business processes Uzbektelekom. The project was carried out in two steps. The first of them included deployment of a billing system and migration of subscribers of mobile communication on a new solution. During the second stage of the project the base of subscribers of fixed connection and broadband access was transferred to a new system. At the same time, in the project progress, the Nexign command provided business continuity of the operator – replacement of billing systems and migration of subscribers was carried out without stopping service of subscribers and with minimum influence on the existing processes of the operator.
In a project deliverable of upgrade of a billing system complete convergence of mobile and fixed connection Uzbektelekom, including services broadband access and IPTV was reached. The solution Nexign allowed subscribers of the telecom operator to receive the uniform account for different types of services. Also use of Nexign Converged BSS allowed Uzbektelekom to optimize housekeeping overheads of the BSS systems, including CRM, roaming, interconnect and debt management.
The term of an output of products and services by the market was reduced from two months to two weeks, and start of multiplatform services and rates promoted increase in a subscriber base of the operator more than on 1.6 million subscribers. Income of the company on one subscriber (ARPU) after transition to the presented solution grew by 10%.
