On September 16, 2020 the Microsoft company announced that it continues to develop cooperation with sports leagues to help them to increase the efficiency and also to give an opportunity to fans to support favorite team in new conditions. National Football League (NFL) of the USA – one of those organizations which actively develops partnership with Microsoft company. In 2020 technology partnership was expanded and began to include use of Microsoft Teams for interaction improvement and also providing digital opportunities.
Technologies of Microsoft are an integral part of operating activities of NFL for several years. Taking into account tasks which wait for us in this season Microsoft will play an important role, helping us to provide to our players, trainers, authorities and fans the best impressions, using such functions as Fan Mosaic and Bud Light Showtime cam, – Michel of McCann, the Chief information officer, NFL speaks |
As fans at the majority cannot be present at games alive now, NFL appealed to Microsoft to provide virtual experience which will allow fans to participate in a game. In key games of this season using Microsoft Teams technology the film by virtual fans which is called Fan Mosaic will be submitted. The mosaic will be displayed at stadiums on LED screens and during broadcastings to make viewing more interesting.
For each game the house command will invite fans to a virtual meeting during which they together watch a game using Microsoft Teams. Fans will see a game on the air and also other fans on two screens. Videos by fans will be integrated on the Fan Mosaic display. Audio of the fans participating in a collection of Microsoft Teams will be added with the strengthened noise of crowd configured for each stadium.
Celebration of the scored goals will also be rethought. In this season the camera Bud Light Showtime will be provided at stadiums in key matches to provide to players a new method of communication with fans after the scored goals.
After the player makes a touchdown, he will see how fans appear on the LED screens established in each final zone that allows them to celebrate the moment together.
NFL will lay off the number of the employees who are present directly at each game. The league will use Microsoft Teams for virtual management of all games, supporting communication with the personnel working at a game to in time and after the match and also for joint work with documents, a reporting preparation and observance of protocols of league and game day.
