2020: Creation of the base station of a 5G/IMT-2020
On September 18, 2020 it became known of creation of the Russia's first base stations for a 5G networks. Development is conducted by the leading research center (LRC) "Global wireless communication systems" based on Globalinformservice company.
According to the press service of ANO Tsifrovaya ekonomika, creation of the base station of a 5G/IMT-2020 it is entirely planned for 2021-2022, and in 2023 the beginning of production is planned. By September 18 of the 2020th research and development of algorithms and the software which will become a basis for creation of an end product are conducted. By this moment the architecture of the station is developed, and preparation of its model which functional tests and also algorithms are planned for November, 2020 will become the next stage.
Then the technical specifications on development of a pilot (pre-series) sample of the base station of a 5G/IMT-2020 in which requirements of the real base station will be formulated will be prepared.
Sale of the model of the base station is planned using the frequencies of 3.3-4.2 GHz. In the world they are the most widespread and perspective for deployment of 5G networks. But these frequencies are not engaged in Russia with power services.
The deputy CEO - the director of STC of advanced developments of JSC Globalinformservice Vadim Belyavsky says that the company implements the project, making use of experience of creation of the base station of 4G-LTE-Advanced. The end of development should take place in 2020, and at most at the beginning of the 2021st serial production of products together with industrial partners will be started, he noted.
For implementation of development based on LITS "Global wireless communication systems" the consortium which included three organizations – LITS of JSC Globalinformservice, the industrial partner (who, having acquired the necessary rights, will be able to implement and start serial production of base stations) and the intellectual partner of Federal State Unitary Enterprise NIIR was created (which helps with a scientific part of the project, including with training of specialists).[1]
