On September 18, 2020 Rostelecom announced creation of the solution intended for connection of the accredited certification centers to the Single Biometric System (SBS). Within the joint project with Crypto Pro company the possibility of issue of the qualified digital signature certificate without personal presence of the person was implemented, using face recognition.
For connection of the accredited certification centers to EBS it is necessary to sign the agreement with Rostelecom and to connect standard or cloud solutions of the company. In both cases the hardware-software cryptographic modules "Crypto Pro of HSM" of version 2.0 and "Crypto Pro of Ngate" are used. They will allow certification centers to fulfill the new requirements of the legislation without essential additional investments, the operator stated.
According to the director of digital identity of Rostelecom Ivan Berov, the new solution will allow certification centers to carry out remote identification of applicants according to requirements of regulators.

The deputy CEO of Crypto Pro Stanislav Smyshlyaev emphasized that remote identification of receivers of certificates using a Single biometric system, requires a set of cryptographic means of high classes of protection.
