Biography

2020: Departure from the job of the Minister of Health of the Czech Republic

At the end of September, 2020 the Minister of Health of the Czech Republic Adam Vojtěch unexpectedly announced the resignation after a country exit to the 2nd place on a gain of number of the infected COVID-19 in the EU.

I performed the work from the heart and I am proud of the colleagues. For these three years we made many changes, - Voytekh at the improvised mini-conference where he announced the leaving said. - I would like to thank the prime minister for trust which he put in me. I thank paramedics for their work. I thank my colleagues [from the Ministry of Health]. I thank all citizens who expressed me the support.

According to Voytekh, he did everything possible to cope with COVID-19 epidemic in the Czech Republic, and he is proud of changes in health care which happened during his being the Minister of Health.

Voytekh held a post of the Minister of Health less than three years after in December, 2017 it was appointed to this position by the president of the Czech Republic Milos Zeman (Milo š Zeman). The minister said that he already submitted the resignation to the prime minister of the Czech Republic Andrey Babish (Andrej Babi š). He remains the member of parliament of the Czech Chamber of Deputies from a batch of ANO.

According to Voytekh, he leaves a post of the Minister of Health to give others space for solution of the problem of COVID-19 which number of new cases sharply increased in recent days. The Czech government resumed work of the Central anti-recessionary headquarters. While there are no data on the one who can head the ministry instead of Voytekh.
