2020: The announcement of T2 ICF - the system of fixing at bone fractures

At the end of September, 2020 the Stryker company provided the system of the intramedullyarny rods T2 ICF for fixing of otlomk at bone fractures. A new system is intended for the help to the people having serious diseases of foot, including a diabetic osteoartropatiya. This status which is also called by Sharko's foot is associated with decrease in mineral density of a bone tissue, injury of nerves and formation of neurotrophic ulcers of foot that finally leads to amputation.

Stryker describes the T2 ICF system as a stabilization system of bone otlomk which prevents loss of rods and provides exact fixing of bones. Representatives of Stryker hope that a new system will reduce the number of amputations of legs at patients with diabetes in connection with ulcers.

We always look for methods to improve the strategy of fixing at patients with Sharko's foot as they have, as a rule, a mineralization of a bone tissue too low, and they often need procedures of recovery of extremities, - also the head of department of surgery of an ankle joint and foot of UTMB Health professor Vinod Panchbhavi noted. - The system of the rods T2 ICF is easy, strong and convenient in use.

According to doctor William Simon, the orthopedist from Bayview Physician Group and the developer of the rod T2 ICF system, medial and lateral rods provides tough fixing with a possibility of a compression through a rod to 10 mm.

The stabilizing rod is combined with cross screws that prevents its loss, and the rod of large diameter provides durability of all system in general.

The system of the intramedullyarny rods T2 ICF can also be used at other statuses, including fixing of changes, an osteotomiya, treatment at not union and the wrong union of otlomk and also an osteosynthesis.[1]
