2020: Presentation of ABB Wet End Control

On October 1, 2020 AVV company announced start of the next generation of a system of advanced management of technology processes (Advanced Process Control, APC) which provides full digital control over transactions in a wet part of paper-making process, optimizing performance and the profit of pulp and paper mills.

Wet End Control – the APC solution on the ABB Ability platform for pulp and paper mills stabilizes process in a wet part of paper-making process and reduces the level of fluctuations due to control, monitoring and optimization of indicators of deduction. The solution is based on multiple parameter model of predictive management for forecasting of future behavior of process in a wet part of production, creating automatic adjustments for level equalization of ash content, decrease in variability of consistence of cooling water and minimization of dosages of chemicals and fillers.

It leads to improvement of utilization properties of the machine due to reduction of breaks of a cloth and its fast recovery and also reduction of time of change of a sort. After that producers of paper can keep track of efficiency from a wet part of process to the final sheet. The solution is available on a subscriber subscription and is provided through ABB Ability Collaborative Operations, giving access to the structured remote monitoring and the expert analysis of quality of management that helps to achieve stable results.

In addition to the influence on performance, the solution Wet End Control helps to minimize costs for raw materials, chemicals and to reduce volumes of paper defects that as a result reduces impact on the environment, leads to decrease in steam consumption and increase in economy of energy.
