Microsoft transfers Dynamics solutions to "cloud"

At the annual Convergence 2010 conference in Atlanta Microsoft provided to the audience essentially new opportunities of interaction of the key IT systems of the company entering a product line of Dynamics: Dynamics CRM and Dynamics GP (the solution is not presented at the Russian market) and also SharePoint and Azure.

Microsoft showed that the joint communications (Unified Communications) became a part of architecture of the majority of significant applications and services of the company. For example, the close sheaf between a "cloud" CRM system from Microsoft and the product Dynamics GP appeared. The updated Dynamics CRM Online with support of a set of languages which will be on sale in the markets of 32 countries of the world now will go on sale in May of this year.

At the Dynamics solution of GP the BI functionality and also possibilities of Excel Pivot service is considerably expanded, 15 new user statuses and the new Microsoft Office forms are added. In general, the product is integrated with 380 web services now and supplied with the 400th different SQL and Excel reports.

Representatives of the company said that updating of other systems of a line of Dynamics will be made later this year. An ultimate goal of the company is creation of close integration of products of the Dynamics family with the products Office and Unified Communications. As an example Microsoft showed as the sales manager can use data from Dynamics ERP and CRM, at the same time using Excel and to communicate with the supplier through a video chat, specifying the basic moments. Also the release of industry solution for retail of Microsoft Dynamics AX for Retail ground for the companies of medium business is planned for August 1, 2010. Certainly, such opportunities can be interesting not only to retailers.

"The expected release new Microsoft Dynamics ERP and CRM will become the statement of new philosophy of corporation according to which all our solutions should work perfectly with each other", - the president of business division of Microsoft Business Division corporation Stephen Elop said.

All variety presented by Microsoft the solution presents at the moment a mix from traditional solutions and solutions SaaS. All products will develop further in the direction of the increasing use of cloud computing technology. So far Microsoft adheres to hybrid model, paying equally in attention to traditionally placed software and "cloud computing". "Cloud" versions of such products as Windows Server Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Exchange Server and others are already available to corporate clients.

According to ZDNet, at the moment Microsoft moves towards "cloud computing" nearly quicker than all other vendors, however, the corporation submitted the most developed cloud-solutions not in a segment of business applications so far: first of all it is Azure and SharePoint. So, for Dynamics line there is no single solution like Platform-as-a-Service yet, or "the platform as service". However next year, as expected, from Microsoft even more functional releases of main systems in which much closer integration with social networks and also new cloud solutions will be implemented will follow.
