IAP RAS - Institute of analytical instrument making

The institute of analytical instrument making is created in 1977 by the resolution of Council of Ministers of the USSR as parent organization of Scientific and technical consolidation of Academy of Sciences of the USSR. Were special design bureau with pilot production a part of NTO and a number of the instrument-making plants of Academy of Sciences. Sources of NTO and Institute had an outstanding scientist and the designer, the corresponding member of Academy of Sciences of the USSR Vladimir Antonovich Pavlenko.

From the moment of the education the Institute formed as the research center focused on development of new methods and means of the analysis of structure and properties of substance, creation of the unique equipment for scientific research.

IAP RAS is a part of Department of nanotechnologies and information technologies of the Russian Academy of Sciences (ONIT RAS).

Main activities

• Development of methods, devices and technologies for the following main directions:
• Methods and devices of diagnostics of a surface, element and structural analysis of substances and connections.
• Methods and devices of nanotechnology and nanodiagnostics. Nanostructures.
• Methods and devices for researches in sciences about life and medicine. Micro and nanosystem equipment, nanobiotechnology.
• Information technologies, automation systems, mathematical modeling in scientific instrument making.

In staff of 60 research associates, among them there are 15 doctors of science and 27 candidates of science. Total number – 132 persons.
