2020: Transfer of IT infrastructure in a cloud

PJSC MTS, the Russian company on providing digital, media and telecommunication services, announced on October 8, 2020 implementation of the complex project on transfer of IT infrastructure of Utair to a cloud #CloudMTS. Key information systems and applications of one of the Russian airlines are postponed for the cloud platform. In the project the certified cloud segment which ensures high safety and corresponds 152-FZ "About personal data" is used .

About 90% of IT infrastructure of Utair airline, including its child structures and divisions through the whole country are transferred to a cloud of MTS. In a cloud both internal IT systems, and external client resources function. The large-scale project on transition to a cloud of MTS is implemented within three months. Seamless migration allowed to transfer IT systems from an external cloud platform, providing high performance of the company during a transient period.

Systems connected with management of operating activities, accounting and finance are postponed for the cloud platform#CloudMTS. It allows to increase efficiency of interaction of the distributed divisions of airline due to consolidation of IT resources in a cloud and the centralized access to them. On the basis of a cloud of MTS external online services for passengers work: website and mobile application. With their help clients of the company make out tickets, are registered on runs and learn the schedule. Cloud computing provides high availability and speed of work of customer services – is up to five times faster in comparison with traditional approach. On average the costs connected with operation of the IT equipment are reduced by 25%.

Utair continues to implement actively technological solutions in operational processes and uses cloud computing for reliable work of key IT systems. Transition to clouds allows to increase efficiency of interaction of IT departments and it is essential to optimize operating expenses of the company on IT — the president "notes Utair - Passenger airlines" Pavel Permyakov.

We are glad to implement this large-scale project on transfer to a cloud of MTS of IT infrastructure of one of large airlines of the country. Utair for October, 2020 flies more than in 140 directions in Russia, from them 75 routes are available only to passengers of the company. The example of Utair shows as technologies help with a company performance which implements important social function on ensuring transport availability in the territory of Russia. Transition to a cloud becomes an obligatory stage in digital development for the companies which work with data bulks and also with personal data of Russians — the director of cloud business of MTS Oleg Motovilov comments.

In the project the selected VPN channel for safe data transmission is used. For all systems transferred to a cloud the provider performs backup that increases reliability of work. In addition to cloud solutions, Utair MTS the Communicator" uses also mobile services, dedicated lines of communication 8-800 and service according to the SMS notification ".
