2020: Start of sales of an electronic "belt of correctness" of Cell Mate, vulnerability detection

At the beginning of October, 2020 sales of an electronic "belt of correctness" for men of Cell Mate which producer is the Chinese company Qiui started. The Cell Mate device is put on genitals and blocked, the unblocking is performed using a special application at which, however problems with security are detected.

The belt of correctness Cell Mate is executed of hardened steel. The technology allows users to transfer control of the device to the sexual partner who can block or unblock "a correctness belt" into which the genital of the man is put in the remote mode. The lock on "a belt of correctness is fixed" by a metal ring under a genital of the user, developers did not provide existence of a physical key for opening of the lock therefore control is exercised only using a special application.

The electronic belt of correctness which is put on genitals went on sale, in it vulnerability is detected

The British company PEN Test Partners detected vulnerability which allows to activate permanent blocking of a genital far off in the Cell Mate device. Developers also did not provide existence of the mechanism of emergency shut-off therefore in case of failure the user will be able to be released only at the condition of application of special tools or physical force that constitutes health hazard.

Experts in cyber security noted that vulnerability is found in an API product, in general data exchange and functioning of a system is performed without password and enciphering therefore anyone can intercept control of the gadget. In addition to permanent blocking of a genital, users risk to open to third parties a geolocation, personal correspondences and also without suspecting anything to provide access to the user base of the device.

According to The Verge, many users already complained of problems with the Cell Mate device. Some managed to avoid problems, other users got frivolous injuries.[1]
