2020: Implementing solution for protection against DDoS attacks

Africell, the mobile operator numbering more than 12 million clients in 4 African countries implemented industry solutions of the Russian company StormWall on protection of network on BGP for increase in security of the networks. Announced this StormWall on October 8, 2020.

This solution provides reliable protection of IT infrastructure of Africell in the territory of Uganda, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Gambia and Sierra Leone where the company provides Internet access by means of technologies 3G, LTE and a 5G and is estimated by regulators as company number one on service quality.

The solution on protection of network on BGP provides automatic protection for the attacked networks, allowing to detect at an early stage DDoS-attack and to carry out switching of traffic to DDoS-filters before the attack results in unavailability of service. The solution helps to ensure stable functioning IT- infrastructures and networks, having protected them from all known DDoS attacks at the L3-L5 OSI levels. This method of protection is intended for Internet providers data centers, hosting- the companies and also corporate clients with own autonomous system.
