The Supreme Court of the Russian Federation is the supreme judicial authority on civil cases, cases on resolution of economic disputes, the criminal, administrative and other cases, cognizable courts formed according to the Federal constitutional law "About the Judicial System of the Russian Federation" and federal laws.

Information infrastructure of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation contains about 1100 workstations of the users and about 30 physical and more than 50 virtual servers ensuring functioning of information systems for October, 2020.

So, their protection — a necessary element of information security support of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation — the chief specialist of department of the software of Management of informatization and communication of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation Alexander Malykhin notes.

System implementation of backup of information in the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation was performed in 2018. When choosing the solution specialists of the customer relied on several criteria.

First of all, means of backup had to provide data backup according to the set scenarios and the schedule, without interrupting and without slowing down work of users. Secondly, specialists of the customer proceeded from need of the fastest and complete recovery of data in case of their loss because of technical incidents, foreign intervention in work of information systems or influence of "a human factor". Simple scaling of a system was one of requirements. Deployment of means of backup in an information structure of the Supreme Court was performed gradually, in process of its development. At the same time the solution should have the versions intended both for personal computers, and for servers, physical and virtual. Also such qualities of the solution as simplicity of deployment, setup and management and also availability and quality of work of a support service of the supplier were important. An essential role was played by the flexibility and simplicity of licensing allowing to achieve economy at acquisition of a packet of licenses.
